Martial Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver Issued to the 4th KY Cavalry


.44 caliber. 8" barrel. SN: 129167 (mfg. ca. 1863). Blued and color casehardened finish, brass triggerguard, smooth one-piece walnut grips. Single action percussion revolver with unfluted, rebated six-chambered round cylinder, hammer notch rear sight and German silver blade front sight. Standard one-line New York barrel address, all visible numbers match, cylinder with typical naval engagement scene that is partly visible. Sub-inspection marks throughout, no cartouches visible on the grip. This revolver is identified by serial number as being in the possession of Company B, 4th Kentucky Cavalry in 1864, according to Volume 4 of the Springfield Research Service Serial Number Books. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Good. Bore fair, dark and dirty, heavily oxidized with pitting and visible rifling. Metal with traces of old, non-factory blue and a moderately oxidized plum brown patina. Metal with evenly distributed light pitting. Mechanically functional action. Grip with moderate wear, showing bumps, dings and mars and some minor chipped loss.
